Park City travel guide

Just four miles from Park City’s historic Main Street, Canyons has established itself as a standout ski and snowboard destination. The resort has grown substantially in the past few years earning it the distinction of largest resort in Utah and its continued dedication to on-mountain improvements and attention to guest amenities has ensured it will remain a local’s favorite.

The 2010–2011 ski season was a milestone for Canyons. As the snow started falling, skiers and boarders welcomed the Orange Bubble, the first chairlift of its kind in North America. This high-speed quad features heated seats and a drop-down wind shield, making your ride to the top as comfortable as possible. The new Iron Mountain Lift adds 10 new runs and brings the resort’s total skiable area to an impressive 4,000 acres. This dual-direction quad will make travel to and from the south end of the resort much faster.

The addition of a 20 million gallon reservoir has more than doubled Canyons snow-making capabilities, supplementing the 355 inches of natural snowfall each year. This helps create a more consistent snow cover particularly for early and late season riding.

The snow beach, in the main village area, was designed to create an inviting space for individuals, groups, and families to unwind after a day on the slopes. Guests can take in the mountain view as they enjoy après-ski cocktails or choose from pub fare or restaurants that specialize in meals crafted from locally sourced ingredients.
