In a ski-resort industry filled with record-breaking corporate mergers and acquisitions, Red Mountain, an independent, under-the-radar powder haven in Rossland, B.C., has become what they're calling an "endangered species." To preserve their spirit and individuality and keep focus on mountain lifestyle rather than base-area development and designer shopping, Red is tapping the skiing and snowboarding community, i.e. people like you, to "Fight the Man. Own the Mountain." Using StartEngine.com, Red Mountain has just launched the first crowd-funded, ski-resort-ownership campaign of its kind.

Red is more than half-way to their goal of "reserving" $10 million to build a sustainable, independent future. Currently, no actual money is being collected, rather, they're gauging financial interest by soliciting "reservations" to own part of Red Mountain. More than 2,400 people have reserved more than $8.8 million. Those who "reserve" a piece of ownership are not obligated to pony up the money when collection time comes. Investment buy-ins range from $1,000 to $10,000 and investors receive perks like lift tickets, custom-designed skis or snowboards, Grey Mountain clubhouse membership, lodging access to six on-mountain cabins and much more.
