Telluride, CO
Founded in 1878, Telluride has a history as colorful as the Victorian homes that line its streets. Originally named Columbia, the fledgling town changed its name in 1887. Telluride started to earn its own place on the map as a budding mining town, and eventually a prime ski and mountain destination.
Besides the excellent skiing, Telluride is probably most popular for its summer festivals and events. Enjoy everything from wine festivals to yoga gatherings—you are sure to find an event suited to your likings. With the great festivals during the summer, and great skiing during winter, it's always a good idea to reserve your Telluride lodging early!
